Clean up/Work day 

Saturday April 1, from 8 am – 12 noon.

We provide a FREE lunch to all our workers that day!

Come out and volunteer a few hours of your time to get the club ready for the upcoming busy season! We have a job for everyone! If you would like more information please call the club 308-787-4770 and speak with Derrick our caretaker or call Jay 309-269-1226 RICC President. We have flowers to plant, raking to do, painting, tree trimming, washing the clubhouse inside and out, fixing picnic tables, garbage cans to place etc.
We have clean up/work day – rain or shine. Always something to get done!
This is your club, so please plan to help!
And remember, there is no camping or fishing on work day unless you volunteer your time.

RICC Spring Party & Egg Hunt… April 2nd

The Rock Island Conservation Club will be hosting a Spring Party on April 2, 2017 for all 2017 member’s children and grandchildren. Egg hunts will be held according to age groups. 0-2 3-4 5-7 8-12 13-adult Each family is asked to bring a dozen of cookies or snack item for the party. Outdoor events are scheduled so dress according to the weather.

Did you ever wonder what the Rock Island Conservation Club was all about?
Would you like a tour of the grounds and have questions answered?
Well, this is a perfect day to check us out! We presently have memberships available for this non profit volunteer run organization!

Memberships are only $65 a year if you are 18-64 years of age and over 65 it’s $50. Our club has over 110 acres and 3 lakes.

For your membership you are able to fish, camp, hike, canoe, kayak, picnic, and enjoy nature! Such a beautiful and relaxing place.

We also have activies thru the year to attend: Family club events, Annual Picnic – and the theme is Octoberfest, Trifecta, Euchre, to name a few. We are also hosting the Boys and Girls club “Get Hooked on Fishing” event August 5 with tons of prizes to anyone who catches winning tagged fish!

Community Yard Sale/Flea Market

  • Indoor and outdoor spaces available from $10.00 and up. This is NOT a Vendor fair, although we do have vendors that come and sell their wares. This is a Flea Market/Yard Sale event.

2017 Rock Island Conservation Club Scholarship
The purposes of the Rock Island Conservation Club Scholarship are to promote conservation and stewardship of our natural resources, to encourage research in the natural sciences, and to deepen the understanding of the relationships between humans and the environment.
Fields of Study:
Areas related to conservation including natural sciences, resource management/conservation, environmental law, environmental science/studies or other related fields are applicable for the scholarship.
Scholarship Award:
Each year, there will be two applicants, which meet all criteria needed for this scholarship, that will be each awarded $1,000 which will be payable in two installments for the school year.
Application Procedures:
Students must fill out the application form, which can be found on our website – www.riccnews.com, submit a copy of their unofficial transcript form their college which indicates the major or course of study, and write a one page paper with a description as indicated on the attached forms and send to the Rock Island Conservation Club Scholarship Committee at P.O Box 3733 Rock Island, IL 61201. In addition, a letter of recommendation must be submitted directly to the Rock Island Conservation Club Scholarship Committee at P.O Box 3733 Rock Island, IL 61201.
Eligibility:
Student must be enrolled as a third or fourth year student at an accredited college in an appropriate course of study, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and have a local address within 30 miles of the Rock Island Conservation Club.
Application Period:
February 1, 2017 to April 30, 2017
